1. Turn on the TouchBOX and other hardware components
First switch on the TouchBOX at your shipping station. On the TouchBOX V4 you will find a switch for this on the bottom side. It may take a few seconds to start up the box. Also switch on the scale, the big screen, the printer and the label printer at your shipping station. |

2. Logging in to the TouchBOX with your employee ID card
After switching on your TouchBOX, the login interface appears first. You should already have created a staff card. If this is not already the case, your production supervisor can create it for you.
Hold the QR Code of your card below the scanner to log in. This is absolutely necessary. Each employee must always log in at the station where they work.
You can find the instructions for managing employees in your production here:
Manage Employees - Printing the Employee Card
3. Shipping Single Items
If you have a single item order, scan the ID tag of the textile as usual at your shipping station and then place it on the scale together with the packaging.
On the TouchBOX you will see the ID tag number, as well as the delivery and sender address.
By tapping on „Packaging“ or the pencil icon next to it, the list of packaging sizes created in the Smake Backend opens. You can change these here, if your shipping service provider asks you to do so.
If the TouchBOX displays an error message due to the delivery address and cannot be sent, you can adjust it on the TouchBOX without having to open the Smake Backend on a computer.
To create automated shipping labels you need a multi-carrier account to manage your shipping methods. Here your shipping providers are simply stored. The Multi-Carrier communicate via API with the Smake system. Currently GoShippo and easypost are active.
4. Shipments with more than one item
On the BigScreen you see the boxes of the order sorting - if the box is marked green the order is complete. You can then pick up the contents of the box for your shipment. Afterwards ID tag by ID tag is scanned, all parts are placed on the scale including the packaging. On the TouchBOX you can see the ID tag numbers, as well as the delivery and sender address.
ATTENTION: An order can only be shipped when it is complete and all items in the order have been scanned in the shipping department. Therefore, it is not possible to forget one or more parts.
By tapping on „Packaging“ or the pencil icon next to it, the list of packaging sizes created in the Smake Backend opens. You can change them here, if your shipping service provider asks for them. If the TouchBOX displays an error message due to the delivery address and cannot be shipped, you can adjust it on the TouchBOX without having to call the Smake Backend on a computer.
If everything is correct and the item is on the scale with its packaging, tap the button „Create shipment“. The scale determines the weight of your shipment and the system automatically transfers this to your carrier. Then your delivery note and the shipping label are printed automatically.
