Currently compatible models: Brother GT-3 / GTX / GTX Pro, Epson F2000 / F2100
1. Switch on the hardware components and the TouchBOX
- Switch on EPS Tree |
|
(Also switch on your DTG machine according to the manufacturer‘s instructions!)
Then switch on the TouchBOX at your brother DTG station. On the TouchBOX V4 you will find a switch for this on the lower side. The booting of the box can take some seconds.
2. Logging in to the TouchBOX with your employee ID card
After switching on your TouchBOX, the login interface appears first. You should already have created a staff card. If this is not already the case, your production supervisor can create it for you.
Hold the QR Code of your card below the scanner to log in. This is absolutely necessary. Each employee must always log in at the station where they work.
You can find the instructions for managing employees in your production here:
Manage Employees - Printing the Employee Card
3. Using TouchBOX at the DTG-Universal Station
After successful login with the ID card the user interface of the station „DTG universal“ appears. Here you have two options to choose from: „Load Print“ and „Load Preview“ - by default, „Load Print“ is always selected, so you can quickly start production.
Under „Load Preview“ you can scan an ID Tag as usual, but at this point you only get a preview of the job and cannot perform any action.
Scan the ID Tag by holding it under the scanner and the overview of the order to be produced will appear. On the left side you see again the overview of the pages to be printed. In the middle you have a preview of the textile including the print.
Underneath this preview, as on the Pretreatment Station, you will find the motif to be printed and the size of the textile. On the right side you see again the name of the article, color and size - directly followed by the action buttons „Print later“, „Positioning (EPS)“, „Scan next Tag“ and „Send to Printer“.
4. Button "Print Later"
If you do not want to print this job yet, you can use the button „Print later“. The file will not be locked and can be rescanned at the station at any time.
5. Button "Scan next Tag"
With this button the ID Tag is closed, the print file is locked and you can start with the next ID Tag.
6. Button "Positioning (EPS)"
To position your file using your EPS tree you can open the positioning interface with this button.
Your print file will now be loaded automatically and displayed via the beamer on the EPS Tree on your printing plate or the textile mounted on it. In the left area you will find the standard profiles for white and black / dark textiles. If you have already saved your own profiles, you will also find them here.
You can change the position in the middle by moving the crosshairs. The preview of the projector moves at the same time. Alternatively, you can use the arrow keys in the upper right corner to change the position more precisely and in smaller steps. Alternatively, you can choose from 4 preset default positions.
In the lower area you can adjust the size of the motif using a slider. You should only do this in an emergency, for example if the file does not fit on the printing plate or is too large. For online store orders in which the customer has determined the size, you should not change this if possible.
If you have reached your desired position you can transfer the file to your DTG printer by clicking the button „Print“. If you are unsure, you can also leave the interface with the button „X“ and try again later.
If you should change a pallet on the machine, you can define this in the settings on the TouchBOX.
7. Create and save Profiles
In the upper menu you will find the button „Profiles“ where you can easily create, edit and save profiles. the parameters are taken from the original printer driver - so you already know them from the brother or epson software.
8. Button "Send to Printer"
Here you can send your print file directly to the printer and skip the positioning via EPS Tree. This is a faster method if no complex positioning is necessary or you don‘t have an EPS tree integrated in your Smake production.
Successful printing must always be completed by clicking the „Scan next Tag“ button. Otherwise the ID Tag or the corresponding print file is not locked and could be printed again by mistake. In addition, open prints are displayed at the „Quality Control“ station if these are not completed and the textile cannot be sent and must be returned to the DTG station.
